| The Sheriff's Office, under Sheriff Kight, became the first Sheriff's Office in the State of Maryland to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The Sheriff's Office received its initial accreditation in November of 1995 and underwent successful on site re-evaluations in 2000, 2003, and 2006. In order to receive and maintain accreditation, the Sheriff's Office has to demonstrate voluntarily that they meet over 4 6 0 professionally recognized standards for excellence in management and service delivery. |
